Terms of Service

By using Mapello you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please do not use the service.

The service

Mapello provides a browser-based map design tool and SVG export service. The free tier allows up to 3 exported maps without an account. Paid plans unlock additional exports and cloud project storage.

Your exports

SVG files you export from Mapello are yours. You may use them for any purpose — personal, commercial, editorial. The exported files contain no dependency on Mapello's servers; they continue to work regardless of Mapello's availability or your subscription status.

Exported maps automatically include embedded attribution for the underlying geographic data sources (© OpenStreetMap contributors for city maps, © GeoBoundaries for country and region maps). This attribution satisfies the license requirements of those data sources (ODbL and CC BY 4.0 respectively) and must be kept intact in any published use of the exported file.

Your content

You retain full ownership of any data, text, or designs you create in the editor. By saving projects to our servers you grant us a limited license to store and retrieve that content on your behalf. We do not claim any rights over your content and will never use it for purposes other than providing the service.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Mapello to:

• Create or distribute content that is illegal, defamatory, or promotes violence
• Circumvent or abuse the export credit system
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or disrupt the service
• Impersonate another person or entity

Payments

Paid plans are billed through Paddle. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time from your account settings; you will retain access until the end of the billing period.

New subscribers are covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied, you can request a full refund from your account settings within 30 days of your first payment.

Account termination

You may delete your account at any time from account settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Mapello is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill arising from use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will notify registered users by email of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
